Terms and Conditions
Last updated 20 October 2026. Mobile Smart Repairs Bury is the trading name used by Dean Seville. Below are the terms for every cosmetic repair we do on your vehicle at an address the two of us have settled on. The service is entirely mobile, so there is no workshop or site where vehicles are handed in.
1. How our prices work
A quote from us rests on two things: the pictures and details you supply, and a look at the car when we arrive. Please photograph every bit of damage and mention anything that has been repaired or repainted in the past. Occasionally a car tells a different story in person. If what we find alters the repair method or the cost, we stop, talk it through with you and only carry out further chargeable work with your go-ahead. Saying no to an amended price is entirely your choice.
2. Confirming a booking and the repair site
A booking stands once the job, day, place and any booking fee have been settled by both sides. On the day, the car needs to be parked lawfully and safely with working space around it, and where the ground belongs to somebody else, such as an employer or landlord, their permission is needed. Bad weather, an unsuitable spot or damage that proves unsuited to mobile work can mean we rearrange or point you to a different fix. If plans shift in a way that matters, you'll hear from us without undue delay.
3. Booking fees, cancelling and visits that can't go ahead
Any booking fee is made clear before you commit, together with whether it's deducted from your bill and how it's treated if you cancel; cancelling won't necessarily cost you that fee. Should we arrive for a confirmed slot and find the work can't start for a reason that's within your control, say the keys or the car aren't available, we may ask for a reasonable call-out charge, capped at £100. It is limited to the loss we actually and unavoidably suffer, we weigh up what happened, and we take steps to reduce that loss.
To cancel or rebook, phone, text or WhatsApp us at the earliest opportunity. Contracts formed remotely or away from trade premises keep their statutory cancellation protection in full. If you'd like work to start inside that cancellation window, we'll set out in advance any amount you may owe.
4. Paying
You agree to pay the figure in your quote or invoice, and PayPal and Klarna are both available for this. Pay-later products are supplied by those companies, not by us, and come with their own eligibility checks, terms and repayment schedules, which they show you before you sign. More on our payment options page.
5. Scope of the work
Our work covers suitable cosmetic repairs, such as dents, scratches, scuffed bumpers and damaged painted alloy wheels, at the place agreed. In a small number of cases an existing fault, concealed damage or the type of paint on the car makes a durable cosmetic repair unachievable. We'll tell you if so, explain the reason and only go further if you're happy to.
6. Our warranties
Reasonable care and skill go into all agreed work as standard. On top of that duty, bodywork and paint repairs come with the Lifetime Ownership Warranty. The cover is personal to whoever owns the vehicle on the day the repair is completed: it begins that day and continues while that person remains the owner. It can't be passed on, and it stops when the vehicle is sold or changes hands. It relates solely to the area we worked on.
Repairs to painted alloy wheels sit outside the Lifetime Ownership Warranty. Instead they carry a workmanship warranty of one year, counted from completion.
7. What's covered
Under either warranty we deal with faults in the repaired area that stem from our surface preparation, or from the way we mixed, applied or cured primer, paint, lacquer, filler or other materials; in other words, failures down to our workmanship. A product that is faulty through no fault of our workmanship falls outside the warranties, though your statutory rights over materials we supply stay intact. Items in section 8 are only covered if our workmanship caused them.
8. What isn't covered
The warranties don't extend to rust or corrosion; to stone chips, scratches, scuffs or dents that appear after the repair; to normal wear and tear; or to harm from external causes. Equally excluded is harm from acids, harsh or highly alkaline cleaners, solvents, abrasives, automatic car wash brushes, steam cleaning, or a pressure washer used at high pressure or held close (including blasting directly at edges, chips or damaged paint), and any fault that comes from the aftercare guidance being ignored. Ordinary washing won't affect your cover. We judge each fault on its cause, and a separate, unrelated chip or scratch has no bearing on a genuine defect in our work.
Rust and corrosion repairs are not a service we offer. Failures traced to rust or corrosion already present, visible or hidden, to past repairs, to filler, primer, paint or other products put on by somebody else, or to an underlying surface breaking down for reasons we didn't cause are not covered. Corrosion emerging from behind a panel, under filler or along a seam is in that category, as is deterioration put down to ageing, fading, weather, debris thrown up from the road, knocks, vandalism, bird droppings, tree sap or environmental fallout. If poor workmanship on our side is the real cause, none of these exclusions applies.
9. Aftercare and claims
Stick to the aftercare and curing guidance we leave with you, keeping acids, strong chemicals and abrasives away from the repaired area and not jet washing it forcefully or at close quarters. Think something's wrong with our work? Tell us promptly, attaching pictures of the problem, the car's registration and the invoice or whatever repair details you have. Where possible, we'd ask to see the repair before any other person works on it. When the fault is one the warranty covers, we rectify it free of labour and material costs, in a reasonable timeframe and without causing you significant inconvenience. You keep all your other legal remedies.
10. Statutory rights
The warranty terms above apply to repairs agreed from 20 October 2026. Jobs booked before that date keep whatever cover they were sold with. Our warranties are extra to your legal rights, among them services provided with reasonable care and skill and materials of satisfactory quality, and they neither replace nor narrow those rights. These terms don't limit any liability that cannot lawfully be limited.
